The Outreach Commission seeks to provide overall direction for the congregation to share Christ’s love through community interaction and involvement with the goal of inviting persons to faith in Jesus Christ. This includes welcoming visitors to participate in our worship services and congregational life, promoting awareness of opportunities for mission and service outreach locally and abroad, as well as service in and beyond the Mennonite Church.

We support a variety of church-wide ministries as well local ones. Many of our members work with local agencies, volunteer and serve on their boards. We have nurtured many folks who have gone on to pastoral leadership and mission work around the world.

We financially support Mennonite Church USA and its ministries:

Mennonite Mission Network • Mennonite Education Agency • Mennonite Central Committee (inc. Penny Power & Virginia Mennonite Relief Sale) • Eastern Mennonite Seminary

We support Virginia Mennonite Conference and its ministries:

Virginia Mennonite Missions • Harrisonburg District of Virginia Mennonite Conference • Eastern Mennonite High School • Highland Retreat Camp • Roberta Webb Child Care Center • New Bridges Immigrant Resource Center

We also financially support other local community agencies in which our members serve as volunteers, or on the their operating boards, such as:

People Helping People •  Gemeinschaft Home • Community Ministry Program

Several other ministries that Ridgeway Church has related to include:

Habitat for Humanity • Mennonite Disaster Service • Harrisonburg Pregnancy Center • Peace House • Open Doors •  Compassion International
